Skyrim this is not.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited has a huge, social world and plenty of opportunities for questing with friends, but at the expense of the solitary, fantastical experiences that made the series' name.
The lore, politics and magic is here, but in a world where hundreds of heroes — each acting as the singular "one" — crowd around every quest-giver and merchant, or sprint endlessly from beast to beast.
This is a fine MMO with a Tamriel skin, but WoW fans looking for something grounded will find more to like here than Elder Scrolls fans looking for the next adventure.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is on PC (RRP $69.95), Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (RRP $99.95). It has no monthly subscription fee.
