Queensland Member of Parliament Clive Palmer.
CONTROVERSIAL Queensland Member of Parliament Clive Palmer will leave the Australian political landscape, announcing he will not contest his seat, Fairfax, at this year’s upcoming election.
Mr Palmer has had a rollercoaster ride in his three years in Parliament after scraping into his seat by just 52 votes in 2013.
He has come under attack in regional Queensland of late, outside of his political role, due to the woes of his business Queensland Nickel, which was placed in the hands of liquidators last month.
Queensland Nickel was based in Townsville, in north Queensland.
