This tiniest of dots on the map is the world's smallest inhabited island. Welcome to the appropriately named Just Room Enough Island.
The vast land mass is just over 300 square metres.

Owned by the Sizeland family, it lies deep in the 2000-isle-strong Thousand Islands chain which lies on the US-Canadian border.
The family bought the slip of rock in the 1950s to create a quiet getaway.
The Sizelands were told in order for the land to be classified as an "island" they needed the land mass to be larger than one square foot (check), to remain above the water level year-round (check) and have at least one tree (ahhh). So the family got busy planting. They also changed the original name of Hub Island to its current moniker.
Everything was going swimmingly, that is until the Guinness Book of Records came a calling.

You see before 1982, Bishop Rock held the honour of being the world's smallest inhabited island. The lighthouse off the English Isles of Scilly held the title until it was automated, and no people = uninhabited. So the boffins at the Book of Records had to source a new number one - and begrudgingly Just Room Enough Island stepped forward.
The peacefulness is now marred by hordes of tourists keen to get a snap of the picture-postcard home.
