Parramatta are back in the NSW Premier Cricket top six after a 24-run first innings win over Blacktown.

After four rounds, it’s a tight race for the top six with Parramatta in fifth leading a group of eight teams separated by just two points.

A 136-run opening partnership between Will Affleck (54) and Tim Ward (82) had Parramatta off to the perfect start.

However, the side lost 3-2 before Nick Bertus (42) and Ben Abbott (24) steadied the ship before Luke Dempsey (33) and Scott Copperfield (37) helped Parramatta to 300.

On day two, Blacktown started positively with Mitchell Hinds (63) and Daniel Nicotra (64) pushing the side to 1-123.

Starts threatened the score but Parramatta proved too strong with Scott Copperfield (3-44) and Ben Martin (3-48) the chief destroyers.

Next round, Parramatta will travel to play Bankstown at Bankstown Memorial Oval in a two-dayer starting on Saturday.
