Kidtopia, the festival for kids and their grown-ups, promises more than your usual family day out.
Supported by Fairfax Media and the Sun, the family event is back in Parramatta these school holidays.
Kidtopia promises an absolute adventure of an outing: a giant playground for kids and parents wrapped up in a chilled festival vibe – and most importantly – one that won’t break the bank.
Taking over Parramatta Park from October 6-8, the three day extravaganza is jam-packed with every type of creative and crazy fun you can think of – from amusement rides, live music, masterclasses, performances, market stalls and more.
Lucas Itrawan and Ash Hodgkinson of Cardistry said they’re excited to appear at the event for the very first time.
Ash, the cheeky teen and Lucas, the brains with countless facts and details at his finger tips, draw the crowd into their joyous world where sheer skill and magic blur.
“We’re looking forward to the crowd and their reactions when they see what we have in store for them,” Ash said.
The boy’s quick wit and extraordinary skills show why, at just 15-years-old, Cardistry have already established themselves on the Australian entertainment scene.
“We’ve been practicing magic for more than five years now,” Lucas said. “We’re both really into magic and actually first met each other at a magic show.”
The duo will perform at noon each day and plan to wow their audience members using marshmallows, cars and spray cans and will even challenge the world record for the fasted time to solve a Rubik’s Cube.
Ash said for any aspiring magician, the secret to the perfect magic trick is practice.
“Just practice,” he said. “Practice a trick so much until you’re sick of it, and that’s when you know it’s ready to perform to your friends and family.”
“Sometimes it may go wrong but that’s what practice is for,” Lucas added.
