Former RSL president directed charity to 'cover up expenses scandal', inquiry told

A retired rear admiral and RSL national president directed the governing body of the charity's NSW branch to turn off the microphone before he urged it to cover up the case of a former president who spent up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in expenses on his mortgage, Christmas shopping and cash withdrawals, an inquiry has been told.
