New York real estate broker Ryan Serhant launches Highline Westmead development

It’s not New York but this development promises to be the next best thing.

Deicorp has unveiled its $400 million Highline Westmead development, promising it to be unlike anything ever seen in western Sydney.

Inspired by New York’s skyline, Highline will feature 556 units in five buildings ranging from seven to 23 storeys on the corner of Hawkesbury and Darcy roads.

Shared amenities will include a 20 metre lap pool, communal green space, kitchen, and dining facilities and a rooftop garden with barbecues and views as far as the Sydney CBD.

Deicorp has appointed Turner Architects to design the mix of studios, one, two and three bedroom units.

Westmead is poised to be Australia’s fastest growing economy with more than $5.8 billion to be invested over the next 10 years.

“It’s an area that’s moving forward,” Deicorp sales and marketing director Peter Neale said. “Westmead will be the next big thing in western Sydney with a lot of public and private investment taking place.”

The first 135 units were released for sale on Saturday.

“There’s been strong interest not just locally but from across Sydney from a mix of investors and owner occupiers,” Mr Neale said.

“Around 35 per cent of units will be under $650,000 and will be affordable for first home buyers. Not only will it have beautiful buildings but also fantastic recreation facilities.”

New York-based real estate broker and reality TV star Ryan Serhant from Million Dollar Listing is the development’s ambassador and was in Sydney on Saturday to launch the project. His team are ranked as the number one sales team in New York.

“Ryan was the right person for the role and we’re working out ways for him to remain involved long term,” Mr Neale said.

Mr Serhant added: “Having the opportunity to be involved with a Sydney development that is inspired by my very own hometown, New York, was something I couldn’t pass up. Deicorp’s impressive urban masterpiece Highline took cues from New York’s own High Line and is unlike any other development I’ve seen in Sydney’s West. This also gave me the opportunity to experience and understand the Australian property market.”

Construction will start later this year. Completion of stage one is due in late 2019.
