Teenager attacked with knife in Merrylands

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was attacked with a knife in Merrylands yesterday.

Police said a group of young people got off a train at Merrylands when they were confronted by another group of youths about 5pm yesterday.

A fight developed and a 17-year-old male from Blacktown was attacked with a knife.

He suffered cuts to his head and lower back which required treatment at Westmead Hospital.

Police have been told members from both groups moved onto Granville Park and others to Granville Railway Station.

Holroyd detectives are continuing their investigations into the matter, and are asking witnesses who haven’t yet spoken to police to come forward.
