It’s been a Parramatta institution that’s hosted thousands of swim, water polo and diving carnivals and cooled off locals on hot summer days for almost six decades.

Friday will be the last day for Parramatta War Memorial Pool before it’s demolished to make way for the controversial stadium redevelopment.
People are invited to come down to the pool on Friday night, 6-8pm to say goodbye.
Pool entry this Friday is free.
Meanwhile, planning for a new pool in Parramatta continues.
Many editions of the Sun have been dominated by pool coverage and the desperate community fight to save the much loved facility in the 13 months since the state government first announced its plans to demolish and relocate pool.
