The countdown to the Cumberland Local Business Awards has begun.
The awards are a chance for the community to recognise businesses that provide outstanding goods and services.
Customers nominate and vote for businesses in industry categories, with the winners then eligible to be chosen as the overall Business of the Year.
Last year the team at Zag Seafoods from Stockland Merrylands not only won Outstanding Fresh Food category but took out the Business of the Year award too.
Owner George Marangou said it was a great honour to win the overall award for the second time.
“It felt really, really good,” he said. “It boosted our confidence that all the hard work we do is appreciated.
“It also motivates our staff to do even better so we can keep winning and keep being the best at what we do.”
Major sponsors are Cumberland Council, Stockland Merrylands and Primewest Auburn Megamall and support sponsors are Dooleys Catholic Club Lidcombe, Merrylands RSL Club and Merrylands Chamber of Commerce.
Vote at www.thebusinessawards.com or a nomination coupon is available on page 7 of this Sun. Everyone who nominates could win a GoPro Hero5 Black.
Nominations close on Wednesday, April 12 with the winners announced on Wednesday, June 7 at Merrylands RSL Club.
