A boy will appear in court next month after he was found with a toy gun and knife at a shopping centre in Parramatta.
It is believed the boy, 12, took the toy gun out of his bag and threatened a shopping centre employee at about 10.45am on Tuesday, February 14.
The boy was later spoken to by police for an unrelated offence.
Officers searched the boy’s bag and located a replica firearm, a knife and other items of interest.
He was arrested and taken to Parramatta police station, where he was charged with armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, custody of a knife in a public place and shoplifting.
He was granted bail and will appear before a children’s court on March 16
