Holroyd Police are appealing for information after a teenager was attacked with a knife in Merrylands on Monday.
At 5pm, a group of young people were alighting from a train at Merrylands Train Station when they were confronted by another group of youths.
A fight developed and a 17-year-old male from Blacktown was attacked with a knife.
He sustained cuts to his head and lower back which required treatment at Westmead Hospital.Police have been told members from both groups moved onto Granville Park and others to Granville Railway Station.
Holroyd detectives are continuing their investigations into the matter, and are asking witnesses who haven’t arrived spoken to police to come forward.
