What better way to herald in the Hindu new year than with lights, dancing, music and lots of delicious food.
The 2016 Deepavali Fair will bring Castle Hill Showground to life as the ancient Hindu festival of light is celebrated in an explosion of colour.
The Council of Indian Australians president Praful Desai said he was very excited about the festival.
“There is still so much to to do, but it’s all falling into place,” Mr Desai said.
Mr Desai said a must-see feature of the festival will be the high-energy dancing.
“Everyone must join in the drumming! It’s very special.”
Signifying the beginning of the Hindu New Year, Mr Desai said Diwali was a special time for family bonding.
“It’s a time for looking forward into the future, wishing for a bright year ahead full of goodness and positivity.
