AMBITIOUS entrepreneur Marco Fahd attributes his business success to his dynamic team and father's wise words.
"When it comes to business he told me 'the sky's the limit' and 'honesty and integrity' — and it's always been important to me to follow that through," Mr Fahd said of his father's advice.
It proved worthwhile with Mr Fahd taking home three awards at the recent Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence, including Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Business of the Year for his company Absolute Tiling Solutions.
The Prospect-based team has been part of the Australian tiling industry for 15 years. It employs 80 people Australia-wide and works with more than 150 industry compliant tiling sub-contractors.
The 26-year-old managing director said the company maintained a positive and ethical approach.
"We've got the right vision in place, the right values in the company and the right people for the job," Mr Fahd said.
"Our staff [are] young and dynamic and the most important reason for our success."
He said the 'one contract, one contact' approach was the key with clients assigned a project manager who controlled all supply and fixing tasks.
He said the company's senior staff and managers had degrees in construction management and actively understood complex construction details and designs to achieve high standards for clients.
With his grandfather and father both tilers by trade, Mr Fahd is the third generation to take up the industry.
"My father spent a lot of time mentoring me over the years," Mr Fahd said.
"He's my inspiration, my idol."
