Students at Cumberland High School in Carlingford were among the 73,000 across the state who sat their first English exam this afternoon.
The first of 19 days of written High School Certificate examinations started at 1.50pm today
Standard English, advanced English and English as a second language exams will be the kick-off the 2012 HSC
This year 73,397 students will complete 118 different exam papers across 760 exam centres.
