NSW centre Josh Dugan has been ruled out of Wednesday's State of Origin opener in Sydney due to an elbow injury.
The Blues released a statement on Sunday morning confirming the withdrawal of the St George Illawarra star from the ANZ Stadium clash.
Canterbury's Josh Morris has been withdrawn from Sunday afternoon’s Bulldogs game in Canberra to join Laurie Daley's team.
Dugan underwent scans after the South Sydney game, which cleared the 26-year-old of any structural damage.
However, he has been in discomfort during New South Wales camp.
Dugan hyper-extended his elbow and suffered some ligament damage as a result of a collision with South Sydney forward Paul Carter.
The incident occurred as Dugan was attempting to ground a kick in goal before Carter landed on his arm in the process of scoring a try.
Blues centre admitted he had feared the worst when the injury happened.
"I actually thought that I'd broken my arm," Dugan said on Monday.
"I was in a fair bit of pain and that sort of thing and even after the game once the adrenalin wore off, my whole arm was shaking and I was sort of in panic mode.”
