An Australian man accused the media of lying after he was jailed for 16 months over an assault at Bali's most notorious nightclub.
Scott Dobson, 53, had consistently denied stomping on Canadian Kenneth James Wickes, a business development advisor at Sky Garden, who approached him after a dispute over his drinks bill.
A panel of judges at the Denpasar District Court found Dobson guilty of a collective act that caused injury.
They ruled aggravating factors included his "complicated story" and his denial of guilt.
"The media lies," Dobson told reporters as he left court. "Congkel matanya" (an Indonesian expression meaning "Poke out your eyes").
Mr Wickes, 47, told the court in earlier sessions he received a phone call from the bar manager on September 27, 2013 complaining that a bule (white person) was refusing to pay his drinks bill.
"I spoke to Scott and because it was very noisy I had to get very close in order to be able to speak and hear," Mr Wickes said last month.
"He then pushed me, at the time two of his friends attacked me and then stomped on me after I was down. Scott joined in stomping on me while holding onto a rail."
Mr Wickes said his eyes, teeth and head were injured in the attack.
But Dobson said he had never kicked or hit Mr Wickes, merely pushing him while trying to explain that he was a shareholder in Sky Garden.
He said a tall white man hit Mr Wickes and then others, including, he thought, former Indonesian professional boxer Alex Bajawa, kicked him.
Dobson has been behind bars at Bali's Kerobokan jail since January 23 this year.
The panel of judges sentenced him to 16 months' jail minus time already served.
They said mitigating factors included that Dobson was polite during the trial, had never been convicted before and was the main breadwinner for his family.
Head judge Made Sukereni advised the court that Dobson had the right to accept the sentence or discuss it with his lawyer.
Dobson immediately said he would accept it without looking at his lawyer.
