The host of Gardening Australia will be at the park for Parramatta's first EcoFest sustainable living festival on Saturday, October 13.
Mr Georgiadis will be there to give advice on gardening, community gardens, as well as why it’s important to live more sustainably in our day-to-day lives.
The festival is part of the annual SpringFest and is organised by ParraCAN.
ParraCAN secretary Bill Tibben promised there would be no doom and gloom.
"We're hoping people have a fun day, and that they get information about climate change," he said.
Member Antony Lewis said the day is about "re-learning things that we used to do... having people grow their own veggies and really making our plants productive, as well as beautiful".
With that in mind, visitors can learn from local experts about worm farms and how to grow vegetables in the city.
Members of a local seed savers group will be on-site selling plants and heritage seeds, and E-copella will perform some of their environmental tunes.
For the kids there will be face painting and a native animal display.
Organisers are also encouraging locals to r ide their bikes to the festival, as there will be complimentary valet parking for bicycles and a heritage bike ride across Parramatta’s 7-Bridges heritage sites from 2pm to 4pm.
And if you bring your own mug, you can get cheaper coffee and drinks.
While at the park, you can also take the scenic Art Walk from Rumsey Rose Garden into the park.
The EcoFest Sustainable Urban Living Festival will be at Parramatta Park's Bowling Green, near the Pitt Street entry, on Saturday, October 13, 9am to 4pm. Entry is free. Details: parracan.org
