A HARRIS PARK-based environmental charity received $10,000 from NRMA Insurance yesterday, at a presentation at NRMA Parramatta.
The community grant was given to Keep Australia Beautiful to fund the development of a new gardening project for primary school children.

The Schoolyard Harvest project will guide school children through the steps of creating their own vegetable garden at school or at home and to understand the environmental impacts of buying their fruit and vegetables from shops.
They will also learn the benefits of keeping chickens and worm farms at home.
Keep Australia Beautiful program manager Natalie Randall said 40 to 50 per cent of teachers indicated in a survey that the Schoolyard Harvest would be useful in NSW schools.
"They see the value in the program and that students and teachers should get involved in it," Mrs Randall said.
She said the program is important for kids living in Sydney and city areas because most of them do not know where their food comes from.
