FORGET taffeta, girls will be rocking sexy sequined off-the-shoulder cocktail dresses at this year's year 12 formal.
Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta besties and cousins Nilofar Paktan, 18, and Lilly Paktan, 17, have taken their cue from Kendall Jenner, from the hit reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
"Over the top," is how Nilofar from Epping described the look.
Jenner models for prom dress label Sherri Hill, the label both girls have chosen to wear. It is popular among celebrity trend-setters like Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and Kristen Bell.
"I want to make a statement; simple hair, but massive dress," said Sarah Bamdad, 18, also from OLMC, who will wear a $700 Amy Taylor dress.
Nilofar will be teetering into Curzon Hall — where their formal will be held in November — on a pair of killer Dollywood stilettos.
She will spend about $1300 to get to the ball which includes an after-party dress but not the $115 formal ticket.
A thousand is about the average spend, said Linda Moussa, manager of The Doll House, Castle Hill, where all three girls bought their dresses.
The OLMC friends are now contemplating their ride — a toss-up up between a party bus or a limousine — which will cost them about $30 each.
