RACEGOERS will have to wait until September 29 for the next instalment of the spring racing carnival at Rosehill Gardens.
After a long cold winter, the first Group 1 race of the spring finally arrived.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Kabayan followed closely at $4.50 and its form justified the price — second in the T.J Smith Group 1 in June and another second in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes just two weeks before.
But it was another trainer that had them seeing double. Peter Snowden's colts, Epaulette and Albrecht, swooped the opposition to take the quinella.
