Man threatened with knife in Merrylands West armed robbery

An employee at a Merrylands West service station was threatened and robbed at knifepoint last night.

Police said shortly after midnight, two men approached the sole employee of the BP service station at the intersection of Kenyons Road and Sherwood Road.

The men, both armed with knives, are alleged to have jumped the counter where the employee was serving a customer and demanded cash from the register.

They then fled with a sum of cash.

Police said they patrolled the area but found no trace of the offenders.

Neither the 29-year-old employee, nor the customer, were injured in the robbery.

The two men were described as being of Pacific Islander appearance. 

They were wearing gloves and their faces were covered with clothing.
