Epaulette takes out Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens

Snowden and racing connections pocket $600,000 for the winner, Epaulette, and $200,000 for second-placed Albrecht.

Horse trainer Peter Snowden was almost outshone by Rosehill Gardens local trainer Chris Waller at the weekend, despite taking the quinella for the $1 million Golden Rose.

The win was also jockey Tommy Berry’s first group one victory.

Snowden will be looking for a strong spring carnival in Sydney and Melbourne after Ambidexter, another Darley Racing product, claimed the group 2 Sebring - Theo Marks Sprint.

But it was Waller who almost stole the limelight after he recorded four winners, two seconds and two thirds from eight races on the day.

One of those wins was in the group three Kingston Town Stakes with Stout Hearted.

Another Rosehill-based trainer Gerald Ryan finished seventh in the Golden Rose with Amorino.
