Local trainer gears up for group one races at Rosehill

Rosehill based trainer Gerald Ryan and his three-year-old colt Amorino have drawn a favourable barrier for this Saturday's Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens.

The outside chance will start from barrier three with veteran rider Jim Cassidy on board.

The first group one of the season will feature 10 horses including the much hyped Nechita.

Ryan played down Amorino's chances but refused to discount him.

The Golden Rose is worth a rich $1 million.
