Three men will face court after they allegedly bashed a 24-year-old man unconscious outside a Newtown bar in the early hours of Sunday.
Police allege a 23-year-old man punched the victim in the head during a fight outside the Newtown Social Club on King Street just after midnight.
The victim's head hit the ground and lost consciousness, police said.
While he was on the ground, a 19-year-old allegedly punched and kicked him a number of times.
Security guards who witnessed the bashing intervened and gave the victim first aid until paramedics arrived.
The victim was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruises to his face.
Police arrested three men, aged 19, 23 and 25 outside the venue and took them to Newtown Police Station.
The teenager and the 23-year-old were charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and the 25-year-old with resisting arrest.
They were all granted bail and expected to appear before Newtown Local Court on January 15.
