NOVA Employment is challenging other businesses in the area to help create 100 jobs for workers with disabilities in 100 days.
Throughout Nova Employment's 100 jobs in 100 days campaign, the emphasis has been on their clients finding employment.
But because of the success of the campaign, more staff are needed within Nova due to the influx of new clients.
"The more people we place in work, the more people we need"
"The more people we place in work, the more people we need," Nova chief executive Martin Wren said.
Nova employees work with clients individually to help them to not only find employment, but to also make the transition to work.
Mr Wren says patience, as well as experience with working with people with a disability are just some of the skills that future Nova employees will need to possess.
"We need people with disability experience," he said.
There are many roles within Nova that need to be filled to help with the increase of clients who are using Nova's services.
As well as employment consultants, roles that also need to be filled are for job coaches, which are an essential part of Nova services, and allow new employees to be properly trained.
Although Mr Wren is more than happy with the response to the jobs campaign, the need for new staff is becoming more apparent.
"We're desperate to recruit"
"We're desperate to recruit," he said.
Nova is also looking into providing help to people with mental illnesses as part of expanding their services, and are seeking employees to assist with clients on this front.
So far, the 100 jobs in 100 days campaign has been a great success, with more than 60 jobs being created before the halfway mark was reached.
NOVA Employment & Training is a disability employment service, with most of the funding coming through the federal government’s Department of Social Services.
Nova helps employers find motivated and keen employees and helps people with disabilities find and develop their careers.
Nova is an ‘open employment’ program. It finds job-seekers work in the general community with the same working conditions as people who do not have a disability.
Nova is not a sheltered workshop or ‘business service’.
