Parramatta’s winter festival of light has brought some much needed warmth to the city centre.
Winterlight is a 16-day event in Church Street Mall that features an ice skating rink, a lighting and scenery installations, outdoor movies and other entertainment.

Parramatta Council expects more than 100,000 people to glide into the mall before the festival culminates on Sunday, July 15.
Lord mayor Lorraine Wearne said the festival would attract people from all over Sydney.
‘‘Our first ever Winterlight was such a huge success last year that we’ve decided to bring it back again in 2012,’’ she said.

Cr Wearne said crowds could find themed stalls, roving entertainment, live music and an array of food options.
The giant ice rink will operate 10am to 9pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am to 10pm Thursday to Saturday, during the July school holidays.
