Police seize $450,000 worth of cocaine in Merrylands

Police have seized 2.3 kilograms of cocaine, more than 70 vials of anabolic steroids, MDMA tablets and $39,000 cash at a house in Merrylands.

Officers said the cocain is believed to have an estimated street value of $450,000.

Officers attached to the South West Metro Region Enforcement Squad attended a property on Betts Road about 12.20pm yesterday, June 27.

The search was followed by another raid on a house in Kensington Close, Cecil Hills – 30 minutes later.

Police arrested a 48-year-old Cecil Hills man at the house and seized approximately 450 grams of cocaine – with an estimated street value of $100,000.

They also seized more than 400 grams of methylamphetamine (ice) – with an estimated street value of $100,000, a large amount of MDMA tablets and more than 50 live shotgun cartridges.

The man was charged with drug supply offences.

He has been refused bail and is expected to appear in Fairfield Local Court today, Thursday, June 28.
