Man and teenage girl charged over Guildford carjacking

A man and a teenage girl have been charged over an alleged carjacking at Guildford earlier in the month.

A 40-year-old woman was driving her Hyundai Accent along McCredie Road, Guildford when two men and a teenage girl approached the vehicle on foot about 6pm, Monday, June 18.

Police will allege the trio then assaulted the woman and demanded she hand over the vehicle.

She was able to run from her car before it was driven away by the girl while the two men fled the scene in another car.

About 11.45pm on Friday June 22, officers attached to Rosehill Highway Patrol located the Hyundai abandoned in Granville, seizing it for forensic examination.

Yesterday detectives from Holroyd police arrested a 17-year-old girl at a house in Shellharbour and a 37-year-old man at a park in Wollongong.

They were charged with aggravated take and drive conveyance in company and aggravated robbery and refused bail.

The man will appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Thursday June 28), while the teenage girl will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court.

Holroyd Detectives are continuing their investigations to identify and locate the other man allegedly involved in the incident.
