Eagles still chasing a win

Still chasing their second win of the season after 13 games, Parramatta again managed to win just one point in an uninspiring home game.

In fact, it was sad news all around when it was confirmed their star player, Kwabena Appiah-Kubi, has left the club.

Parramatta was one one goal down after 13 minutes when Greg Kondek headed into the net during a first half completely dominated by the Spartans.

In the second half the Eagles came alive to string together many attacks, and could have even won the game.

In the 60th minute Joel Woods - in his second appearance for the home team - leveled the score after a good run by Bryan Soane.

Two minutes into extra time Akiyoshi Saito missed a golden opportunity to give Parramatta a precious three points but his shot

from just under the post went wide.

Coach Lee Sterrey was cautioned by the referee for the second consecutive game.

In the U20 early game, Parra won 2-1 while the U18 lost 2-3.

On Saturday, June 30, Parramatta FC plays Marconi at Marconi Stadium from 7.30pm.
