A man has been charged with manslaughter following a fatal fire in Oatlands last November.
Police and emergency services attended a house on Prince Street, Oatlands, after receiving reports of a house fire about 8.45pm on Tuesday November 22.
The premises was found to be well alight before being extinguished by officers from Fire and Rescue NSW.
A 31-year-old man was located deceased in one of the front rooms of the house.
A 25-year-old man was located outside the premises and taken to Westmead Hospital with serious burns to more than half of his body, which required surgery.
The Hills police commenced an investigation into the fire.
About 10am yesterday, Wednesday, June 13, police arrested the 25-year-old Peakhurst man
at Hurstville police where he was charged with dishonestly destroying property by fire and manslaughter.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on July 5.
