An injury-riddled Parramatta Wildcats senior men's team has fallen 100-70 to the Sydney Comets on Saturday night at the Alexandria Basketball Stadium, in Round Ten of the 2012 Waratah Championship League (WCL) competition.
The Parramatta women suffered a similar fate, falling 83-39 to the Lady Comets in the second game of the night.
The Parramatta men were already without Rory Sutton and Mark Musgrave prior to the start of the game but with injured centre Goran Veg playing with an obvious injury, out-played the Comets for a 23-21 lead at the end of the first term.
Veg was re-injured during the opening term but played on under extreme adversity as the Wildcats continued to impress, holding the Comets to a 41-39 lead at half time.
Fortune swung against the Wildcats when Veg could not continue in the third term and the Comets were quick to respond, racing away to a 68-47 lead at the end of the third term, then continuing in that vein of form to record a 30-point win.
The Parramatta women were as brave as ever against the strong Lady Comets but it was one-way traffic from the opening whistle, with the home team untroubled to record a 44-point win.
