Teenager arrested after holding a gun in Merrylands drive-thru

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after driving through a Woodville Road, Merrylands fast food drive-thru holding a pistol about 6.40pm last night.

Police said the boy was allegedly found in possession of a pellet gun and several knives.

The teenager allegedly had a pistol in his hand while being served by staff at the drive-thru window of the restaurant.

Officers attached to Operation Spartan subsequently stopped the Ford Falcon on Woodville Road and spoke to the teenage boy and his male passenger.

During a search of the car police allegedly located a black pellet gun, hundreds of pellets and eleven knives.

The boys, both aged 17, were arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station for questioning.

The driver was later charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition and having custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today (Monday, April 30)

His friend was released without charge pending further investigations.
