Police investigating a possible shooting at Merrylands early this year are appealing for public assistance.
On Tuesday, February 21, officers from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad executed a search warrant on a home at Georgina Street, Bass Hill, with alleged links to the Hells Angels.
During the search warrant, a .44 calibre revolver and a .32 calibre semi-automatic pistol were seized. A man has been charged in relation to the firearms.
Since then, detectives have been conducting extensive inquiries into the firearms and any crimes they might have been used in.
Those investigations led them to a house at Lamb Crescent, Merrylands, where a search warrant was conducted late last week.
Inside the home, detectives located a projectile embedded in the floor of a bedroom.
Ballistic examination of the projectile is continuing but detectives believe it will match one of the firearms seized from Bass Hill.
The current occupants of the home are not believed to be linked to the shooting.
Detectives are now appealing to members of the public for information about a shooting at the Merrylands home sometime prior to February 21.
Anyone who can assist police should contact Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
