ONE Kiwi No.6 with a clever passing, kicking and running game will square off against another Kiwi No.6 with a clever passing, kicking and running game on Sunday.
And the result will rest squarely on their shoulders.
Eels pivot Ben Roberts faces his biggest challenge in the blue and gold jersey when he lines up opposite Wests Tigers captain Benji Marshall.
Pick up the Round 8 edition of the Blue and Gold magazine at the Eels vs Tigers game today.
Roberts, who guided the Eels to their only win against Manly the last time at home, said he was looking forward to the challenge of facing the unpredictable Kiwi maestro.
"It is the biggest challenge in the NRL as a No.6 facing Benji," Roberts told the Sun. "Benji is one of the best players in the world, but what better way to see how you are going than going up against Benji?"
Roberts has been one of the Eels' best in 2012 and is now building his combination with halfback Chris Sandow.
His deft kicking game and his ability to break the line have been rare bright spots in the Eels' attack.
The good news for Eels fans is that his best is yet to come.
"I've been pretty happy with how I am going but each week I'm trying to build up and get better and better," Roberts said.
