Widemere Public School has found an artful way to raise funds for a new covered outdoor learning area.

The school will auction artworks created by each of nine classes from kindergarten to year 6 at an Education Week open day on Monday, July 28 at 10.30am.

The auction is held every second year and in 2012 close to $3000 was raised for the school. One year 2 artwork alone garnered $700.

This year’s offerings include a colourful acrylic on canvas of zoo animals painted by a year 3 and 4 pupils. Morning tea will be provided after the event. Donations can also be made at the front office.
