Parramatta West Public School pupils put their hearts into charity fundrasing venture Jump Off Day.
The school’s 627 pupils from kindergarten to year 6 raised $1,843 for the Heart Foundation through the Jump Rope for Heart event on Thursday.
They showed off skipping tricks including backwards jump, jump-bounce, double dutch turning —done with two ropes — and the continuous side swing cross.
‘‘Our students asked their friends and family to sponsor them with money raised helping the Heart Foundation to fund lifesaving heart research and health programs,’’ said kindergarten teacher Jessica Assaf.
‘‘We’re very excited to be able to help fight heart disease and teach our students about charitable giving.
‘‘The kids were super happy. It was a great day for them both raising the money and showing off their skipping tricks to everybody at school.’’
Chemist Warehouse Parramatta, Barclays Law Group, Oxbrey Financial Group Pty Ltd and Newcombe Kritsimas Financial Planning sponsored the event.
