Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sustained a broken ankle when he crashed his car into a tree at Greystanes on Sunday, July 13.
Emergency services were called to Bradman Street following reports of a crash at about 2.30pm.
Police said a Nissan coupe and a Subaru WRX were driving along Bradman Street when the Nissan lost control and mounted the footpath before crashing into a tree.
A number of residents heard the crash and came out to help the driver while the Subaru fled the scene.
A 20-year-old man was treated at the scene by emergency services and taken to Westmead Hospital with a broken ankle as well as shoulder and facial injuries.
Police are continuing investigations into the crash and urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Merrylands Police or Crime Stoppers.
