Giant ice rink set for Prince Alfred Park

A giant outdoor ice rink is on offer as part of the spectacular Parramatta Winterlight at Prince Alfred Park from tomorrow night until July 13.

The ice rink will be officially opened at 6.30pm July 27, with guest performances by 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics competitors Danielle O'Brien and Greg Merriman and 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics competitor Stephanie Zhang.

Thousands of visitors are expected and while the ice rink is the centrepiece of the event, it will also include colourful lights and a winter-themed alpine village. Revellers can also take a memorable photo inside an impressive life-size snow globe.

Winterlight will also include themed stalls, free winter activities for children, as well as an assortment of food outlets will offer delights from gourmet German sausages, Turkish gozleme and hot chocolate.
