Experience the cool factor at Parramatta this winter and master a few tricks on a giant outdoor ice rink, as part of the spectacular Parramatta Winterlight at Prince Alfred Park, 10am till late, from 27 June to 13 July 2014.
Parramatta Winterlight is expected to draw thousands of visitors and while the ice rink is the centrepiece of the event, beautiful lighting and décor will create a thriving winter themed alpine village. Revellers can also take a memorable photo inside an impressive life-size snow globe.
Warm up with a glass of mulled wine at the outdoor bar after 5pm and enjoy a variety of entertainment including ice shows and a DJ spinning all your favourite tracks on Friday and Saturday nights.
Themed stalls, free winter activities for children, as well as an assortment of food outlets will offer delights from gourmet German sausages, Turkish gozleme, to hot chocolate and tantalising sweet treats.
Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Cr John Chedid said Parramatta Winterlight is one of the biggest events on Parramatta’s event calendar, alongside Council’s New Year's Eve and Australia Day celebrations.
“Parramatta Winterlight is back again this year at a new location at Prince Alfred Park, which means a bigger ice rink and the opportunity to explore a new location filled with magnificent lighting and ice skating shows and plenty of entertainment for the whole family,” Cr Chedid said.
“Families and skaters won’t be the only ones in a rush to get their skates on, with this year’s event also including an outdoor bar, for after work drinks.
“Parramatta Winterlight is another example of Council’s commitment to improving the use of its open spaces and will further enhance our growing reputation as one of Sydney’s leading event destinations.”
