Police from Holroyd Local Area Command have charged a man after the vehicle he was driving crashed through a fence, landing near railway tracks at Pendle Hill.
Shortly after 8pm Monday June 9, police will allege a 36-year-old man was driving his Mitsubishi Magna on Joyce Street, when he crossed over Goodall Street, near the overhead bridge, crashing through a fence, down an embankment, and landing near railway tracks.
The driver managed to escape serious injury and walked back up the embankment where he was met by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The driver was breath tested at the scene and provided a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Merrylands Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis which allegedly provided a reading of 0.135.
He was charged with mid-range PCA and had his licence suspended.
He was given bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court on 16 July, 2014.
Arrangements have been made for a crane to remove the vehicle.
