A new playground designed with the help of students from Toongabbie Public School was opened on Tuesday.
Parramatta lord mayor John Chedid said Binalong Park is incredibly popular with local children, but the ageing play equipment "desperately needed a facelift".
“Encouraging children from the local school to be part of the design process has ensured the playground will be well-used and also provides them with a sense of ownership," Cr Chedid said.
“The new playground features one of the few spider web swings installed in Parramatta, as well as other swings, river rock steps and climbing ropes, and an open-top play structure.
“The improvements, which also include new seating and landscaping, made at Binalong Park provide high quality play equipment and a safer and fun environment for local kids and families to enjoy.”
