Dual courts for McCredie Park Guildford

Fans of netball and tennis will enjoy a new $105,000 dual use court at Guildford’s McCredie Park.

The new facility is the first stage of the McCredie Park Landscape Masterplan 2009 and includes removable fittings for use by netball or tennis, perimeter fencing and lighting.

"Our commitment to provide modern facilities for the community is a sign of the times, with more and more people embracing the outdoors, and getting serious about keeping active," said Holroyd mayor Nasr Kafrouni.

"Quality facilities help support sporting clubs and local groups to strengthen their relationships and build better connections in the community.

Fairfield MP Guy Zangari said the construction would prove to be a community asset. "Netball is growing in popularity and it is good to see the addition of new sporting infrastructure that caters for the community’s needs,’’ he said.

Further stages of works include the installation of two more dual use netball and tennis courts, a double cricket practice wicket, a new amenity building with tiered spectator seating and the extension of the car park on the western side.
