Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his wife attended church with Parramatta lord mayor John Chedid on Good Friday.
Mr Abbott and wife Margie attended the Rite of Adoration of the Cross service at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church at Harris Park with Cr Chedid and wife Monty Chedid.
Mr Abbott had accepted an invitation from the parish to attend the service, which marks the important event on the Christian calendar.
Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay officiated the Rite of Adoration of the Cross service.
“This is one of the most sacred days in the Christian religious calendar and I was pleased to share it with the prime minister and his wife," Cr Chedid said.
