13yo girl sexually assualted at Parramatta

A 37-year-old man will face court today after allegedly indecently assaulting a 13-year-old girl inside a public toilet at a Parramatta shopping centre.

Police were called to the shopping centre around 1.30pm yesterday, after a 13-year-old girl contacted police saying her 13-year-old friend was inside a public toilet cubicle with a man.

Police attended the location and arrested a 37-year-old man in one of the shopping centre’s food courts.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with:

- Sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14;

- Aggravated indecent assault, and;

- Act of indecency.

The man, from Dundas Valley, was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect. The squad works in partnership with the Department of Family and Community Services and NSW Health, with specialised tri-agency teams based at metropolitan and regional locations throughout NSW.
