A little boy has died after being hit by a car at Westmead this afternoon.
It is believed he was crossing Hawkesbury Road with his mother and a six-year-old boy when they were hit by a grey Mazda 6.
Police from Holroyd local area command are continuing investigations into the collision and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Hawkesbury Road and Mowle Street at 4.30pm in response to reports a child had been hit by a car.
Police and paramedics attended the scene where they found a boy, believed to be four-years-old, with serious head injuries.
They did CPR on the boy before he was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition; however, he died a short time later.
