Police have charged a 29-year-old man over the alleged attempted armed robbery of a Ganville hotel on Tuesday morning. About 2.30am, a man entered a hotel on Woodville Road allegedly armed with a firearm. Police said the man confronted two female employees aged 19 and 49 and demanded money. The women fled and alerted security before the armed man ran away from the hotel empty-handed. He was last seen being driven away from the scene in a white Toyota Camry sedan. A short time later police stopped a car on Manchester Street Merrylands, arrested four men and seized a .22 calibre gun nearby. One of the men, aged 29, was charged with robbery armed with a dangerous weapon and firearm offences. He was refused bail and appeared in court yesterday. The other three men have been released pending further investigations.
