Four men are in police custody and a loaded gun seized after an alleged attempted hold up of a Granville hotel this morning.
About 2.30am today, a man allegedly armed with a gun entered a Woodville Rd hotel.
Police were told the man demanded money from two female employees before the women ran into another area of the building seeking help from security.
The man left the building and was seen being driven away in a white Toyota Camry sedan.
Police were alerted and a description of the vehicle was broadcast on radio.
Minutes later, a car matching that description was stopped in a car park at Manchester St, Merrylands, and four men were arrested by Holroyd police with assistance from a dog unit team.
A loaded gun was seized and was taken for forensic examination, along with a number of other items.
The men, aged between 29 and 39, are now in custody at Merrylands police station.
