Goannas unveil new look uniform

Holroyd Parramatta AFL team the Goannas unveiled the first change to  their team jumper in 13 years to major sponsors on  March 28.

Club representatives and players met with Merrylands RSL Club president  Ron Hand at the Gipps Road Oval to show their logo featured on the senior team’s jumper.

The RSL club has sponsored the team for 10 years but its recent ‘‘increased commitment’’ to the team has granted it a place in the blue and gold uniform.

Goannas’ marketing manager Peter Taylor said he was ‘‘ecstatic’’ about the new jumper.

‘‘The new modern look is great,’’ he said. ‘‘We changed the white goanna at the front of the jumper for a yellow ‘G’ to honour the close relationship we have with The Giants, and we incorporated the Merrylands RSL Club logo.

‘‘In the next two years, all four senior teams and the junior team’s jumpers will also wear a similar jumper.’’
