Top horses from around Australia and the world will descend on Rosehill Gardens Racecourse for a day of racing at Guineas Day on Saturday.
The second race event of The BMW Sydney Carnival will feature a trifecta of three major race meetings including the Group 1 $1,000,000 George Ryder Stakes, the Group 1 $400,000 The Galaxy and the $500,000 Rosehill Guineas, where the best three-year-olds in the country compete for line honours.
This day is also the last chance for two-year-olds to qualify for the 2014 Tooheys New Golden Slipper.
Australian Turf Club executive general manager of sales and commercial of the Tony Partridge said the day boasts a carnival atmosphere teamed with celebrities and live racing.
"If you're into racing, we have three major races happening at Guineas Day," Mr Partridge said.
"We have Irish horse Gordon Lord Bryon and the Queen's horse competing on the day.
"The pamper lounges will be back on for another weekend, there will be a DJ on the main stage and we will be giving out jockey hats."
In celebration of the year of the horse, the Australian Turf Club is giving racegoers the chance to win a share in the Cracking Fortune Competition which includes a $30,000 prize pool.
